Health Professions Council of Zambia

The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is a statutory regulatory body under the Ministry of Health with obligations to regulate the registration of health facilities and health practitioners as well as maintaining optimal standards of competence, care and professional conduct. It was established under the Health Professions Act No. 24 of 2009.

The mission of the Health Professions Council of Zambia is to safeguard the quality of healthcare services by regulating and monitoring the professional conduct of Health practitioners, Health facilities and Training Institutions offering HPCZ approved training programmes, HPCZ seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following positions:

REGISTRATION OFFICER (X01)- NDOLA
(PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE ESTABLISHMENT)

Job Profile:

To undertake the registration of health practitioners in the Region in order to ensure adherence to statutory requirements.

Main Duties:

  • Undertakes effectively the registration of non-specialist health practitioners and processing documentation for specialist health practitioners in order to ensure that registered health practitioners meet statutory requirements.
  • Undertakes effectively the processing of applications in order to facilitate issuance/renewal of annual certificates/licences for practitioners.
  • Undertakes effectively compliance monitoring of health facilities, health practitioners in order to ensure adherence to set standards.
  • Undertakes effectively monitoring and evaluation of registration programmes in the region in order to facilitate implementation of appropriate interventions.
  • Undertakes effectively the maintenance of registers for health practitioners, in the region in order to ensure they are up-to-date and facilitate effective decision making.

Reporting relationship:

Reports to the Senior Registration Officer-Northern Region

Knowledge and Work Experience:

  • Full Grade 12/ Form V School Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Related Sciences or Social Sciences or its equivalent Valid HPCZ practicing license for those with Health related qualifications
  • Two (02) year’s working experience

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work under pressure,
  • Computer Literate,
  • Negotiation Skills;
  • Interpersonal Skills; and
  • Report Writing Skills.
