POSITION: RIGGER
This role reports to the Senior Avionics Maintenance Engineer. The job holder will be Responsible for quality installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of pylons, masts, aerials, and related aeronautical mechanical equipment for Zambia Airports Corporation Limited according to given specifications.
Key Performance Areas
- Carries out maintenance works and routine checks of all aerials and examines all shackles, wire ropes, slings, chain blocks, tirfors and overhead cranes to determine the condition of operation.
- Carries out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs of aerials, masts, earth mats and pylons.
- Advises on quality of rigging, assembles and installs rigging gear such as cables, ropes, pulleys and winches to lift, lower, move or position machinery, structural steel and other heavy objects.
- Initiates acquisitions for procurement of spares, tools and equipment, materials and compiles reports on equipment status.
- Carries out any assignment on related aeronautical mechanical installation, maintenance and repair works.
- Manages stores for rigging tools, equipment and accessories.
- Safety and rescue operations at heights
- Assessing the impact of safety on operational changes and activating hazard and risk analysis processes as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Rigging Certificate
- Full Grade 12 school certificate with five (5) credits which include English, Mathematics and Physics/Physical science.
- Three years working experience with a proven record and specialization in any of the following:
- Assessing the impact of safety on operational changes and activating hazard and risk analysis processes as appropriate.
- In Collaboration with the supervisor, ensure the promotion of awareness of quality policy, quality objectives, and staff contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS and the benefits of improved performance and the implications of not conforming to QMS requirements.
- A Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
