Ducorp Zambia Limited is a fast-growing Agribusiness Company located in Lusaka -dealing in Food Commodities, Feed Ingredients, Animal Proteins, Feed Additives, Stock Feed, Fertilizer, Animal Health Consultancy and Mini-type Agricultural Implements.

Ducorp Zambia Limited in Lusaka; is inviting suitable candidates to apply for the position of Veterinarian (x2) with Experience conducting various types of surgeries, vaccinations and health checks on animals (Poultry).

Key Responsibilities

– Shall provide the basic examination, flock behaviour, observe poultry behaviour, production analysis, nutritional recommendations and devise effective flock health management procedures
– Conduct all the poultry vaccinations programs in both Broilers and Layers
– Effectively Coordinate all Biosecurity measures at all the necessary critical control points of the farm.
– Conduct routine disease surveillance in both layers and broilers and treatment of disease in cases of disease outbreak
– Provide technical support to and conduct training on poultry health /management to customers
– Provide veterinary services to both external small-scale customers and contract growers
– Examine animals and check their health status
– Diagnose illnesses and determine the best treatment
– Dress wounds of injured animals
– Prescribe medication
– Advise farmers on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care

Minimum requirements are:
· Diploma or Degree in Animal Science from a recognized institution.
· Experience 1-2years Years
· Work experience as a Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician or Veterinarian Assistant
· Excellent animal welfare knowledge
· Strong numeracy and literacy skills
· Computer literacy for data collection
· Proven ability to lead a team
· Specializations in Veterinary
· Ability to work well under pressure
· Must be registered with Veterinary Association of Zambia
· Must be knowledgeable in poultry, cattle & other animal diseases.
· Be able to apply basic and knowledgeable poultry husbandry practices.
· Must be knowledgeable in vaccinations.
· Minimum of two years of work experience as a Poultry Veterinarian or with any poultry experience
The following would be an advantage:
· Experience in Livestock veterinary fieldwork
· Self-motivated
· Driver’s licence

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Veterinarian at Ducorp Zambia Pvt.Ltd. in Lusaka.
