A reputable Statutory Body wishes to fill the position of Finance Manager. Suitably qualified candidates who meet the following criteria are invited to submit applications:

KEY RESULT AREAS – PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

  • To manage timely the preparation of financial statements in order to comply with financial and statutory regulations.
  • To manage timely the preparation and submission of financial management reports in order to comply with financial regulations and facilitate decision making.
  • To manage effectively the coordination of the development and review of internal controls in order to enhance transparency and accountability in the utilisation of financial and material resources.
  • To manage effectively the monitoring of expenditure in order to ensure that spending is in line with the approved budgets and financial regulations.
  • To manage timely the costing of programmes in order to facilitate preparation of annual budget estimates and disbursement of financial resources.
  • To undertake periodically the identification of potential partners and preparation of funding proposals in order to facilitate resource mobilisation.
  •  To manage timely the preparation of responses in order to resolve audit queries and ensure unqualified accounts.
  •  To manage effectively accounting for assets in order to safeguard public property.
  • To manage effectively the processing of the payroll in order to facilitate payment of personnel related obligations.
  • To manage effectively the preparation of cash flow forecasts in order to ensure the institution’s liquidity.
  •  To manage effectively the storage and distribution of goods in order to ensure accountability, safe custody and availability to end users.
  • To manage timely the development of workplans and the implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education/Professional Qualifications:

  • Full Form V/Grade 12School Certificate
  • Chartered Accountant Zambia or its equivalent
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)

Work Experience/Competences

  • 8 years
  • Ability to write analytical and technical reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Familiarity with financial accounting software, Navision will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable management

The candidate should possess, among other skills and attributes:

able to enforce internal controls objectively, supervisory skills, high confidentiality, assertive, analytical, numeracy, interpersonal, integrity and initiative.
