Graduate Trainee (Food Science/ Agriculture)

The key purpose of the role is to assist in planning, setting up and facilitating trainings and consultations to small-holder and commercial farmers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out field visits to producers for consultations, trainings and internal audits
• Assist in quality control, product development trainings and consultations
• Assist facilitation of certification/quality documentation of export produce for clients
• Assist in the packaging of export shipments for clients
• Planning and setting up training events
• Draft Internal Control Systems, HACCP plans , Process flows and Certification related records and documents for producers.
• Assist in the record keeping and documentation coaching of key employees of producers and producers for the applicable Agricultural, Social & Food Safety standards
• Assisting in translation of trainings into local language for better comprehension
• Actively participate in the marketing and public awareness campaigns of programs
• Work hand in hand with partner organisations and their teams in program planning and facilitation in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and any applicable region
• Report and record compilation
• Research and compile National Agricultural policies and regulations

REQUIREMENTS

Age

23 -30 years old

Skills

1. Excellent written and oral communication skill-English Language
2. Functional oral communication in Nyanja/Chichewa and Bemba (knowledge of more local languages is an added advantage)
3. Excellent computer literacy and use of Microsoft Office(Word, Power point, Excel)
4. Basic knowledge of the global Food safety, Social, Organic and Agricultural standards and regulations i.e G.A.P and HACCP
5. Basic understanding of Crop protection and MRL data for global export regions
6. A driver’s license is an added advantage
