The Zambia International Trade Fair Trust (ZITFT) is inviting applications from talented, energetic, enthusiastic, suitably qualified, and experienced candidates for the position of Property and Maintenance Officer.

JOB SUMMERY
To support the delivery of high-quality facilities management services at the ZITFT site, the post holder will be responsible for conducting building inspections and audits, coordinating day-to-day maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and works contracts, while providing professional services in all aspects of property and construction related to the Trust’s building assets.
MAIN ROLES AND RENSPONSIBILITIES

Carry out a preventive, planned maintenance program and undertake routine inspections of the premises, fixtures, fittings, utility meters, and grounds.

Coordinate or perform repairs, maintenance, improvement works, and inspections to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises.

Ensure that health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing, flushing, emergency light testing, and site safety/security checks, are conducted regularly at the ZITFT site to maintain the safety and welfare of the public and staff.

Conduct periodic checks on the status of stands in the Trade Fair grounds to ensure cleanliness and maintenance, taking appropriate action where standards fall below expectations.

Requisition of materials and tools as required, obtain approval from the superior, and procure them from stores or suppliers to ensure their availability.

Ensure timely preparation of the Trade Fairgrounds in readiness for the Fair, inspecting stands and ensuring that major tasks are completed promptly.

Coordinate and control the quality of work within the section, ensuring that all tasks accurately reflect management objectives and intentions, thereby enhancing the ZITFT’s reputation.

Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner, for management and board decision-making.

Perform any other assignments as directed by management from time to time.
QUALIFICATION.

Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate.
-
Degree in Real Estate or a related discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, etc.).

Knowledge and management of building construction and fabric maintenance.

Knowledge and management of mechanical and electrical services.
-
Knowledge and understanding of current legal and legislative responsibilities related to health and safety.

Knowledge and understanding of architectural drawings and specifications.
-
At least three (3) years of professional experience post-qualification.

Membership with a professional body, such as the Engineering Institute of Zambia.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business solution software (preferably Pastel).
