Job Title: Country Manager
Location: Zambia
Reports To: Managing Director / Board of Directors
Direct Reports: Finance & Admin Officer (1), Team Leaders (6)
Indirect Reports: Forex Tellers (6)
Subsidiary: BSquare Bureau de Change Limited
Possible Location: Ndola, Lusaka, or Livingstone
Job Purpose
To lead, grow, and strategically expand FDH Money Bureau’s operations in Zambia by managing financial and operational performance, developing efficient systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a high-performing team aligned with company goals and FDH’s core values (FASTTER), in order to drive sustainable growth and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
i. Strategic Leadership & Operations
Develop and execute Zambia Bureau’s strategic plan aligned with company scorecard.
Set policies, goals, budgets, and monitor outlet performance.
Recommend opening or closing of locations based on performance.
Discretion: Full autonomy
Measure: Performance scorecards, financial reports
ii. People & Performance Management
Lead recruitment, staff scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
Drive talent development, retention, and motivation strategies.
Conduct staff meetings and manage succession planning.
Discretion: High to full autonomy
Measures: Staff turnover, training records, productivity
iii. Process & Compliance Excellence
Design and implement operational procedures to boost efficiency.
Ensure all staff have access to updated procedure manuals.
Organize Board meetings, draft resolutions, file statutory returns (Registrar General).
Ensure full compliance with Bank of Zambia and legal requirements.
Discretion: Full autonomy
Measure: Clean audit reports, filed returns, updated manuals
iv. Reporting & Financial Oversight
Submit weekly performance reports (per outlet) to Managing Director.
Ensure timely monthly operational and BoZ regulatory reports.
Review financial statements and trading reports to drive profitability.
Authorize operating cash within policy limits.
Discretion: Full autonomy
Measure: Timeliness, accuracy, compliance
v. Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement
Interface with Managing Director, Board, HR, Team Leaders, and customers.
Represent Bureau in negotiations and regulatory submissions (e.g., Bank of Zambia).
Key Decisions: Staff recruitment, forex allocation, impacting entire subsidiary.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional Membership: Membership in a relevant professional body preferred.
