The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) is an autonomous body established by the NPA Act No. 34 of 2010. Its mission is to “provide prosecution services to contribute to a crime free Zambia”. In its quest to improve service delivery, NPA is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions;
DRIVER,
Employment type: Permanent and Pensionable
Number of Positions: One (01) Position
Salary Scale: NPA/09
Reports to: Head Driver
Duty Station: Headquarters – Lusaka
Main Job Purpose
To drive vehicles in order to facilitate mobility of officers, materials and equipment for the Authority.
Specific Responsibilities
- Inspects the assigned vehicles daily or before undertaking any trip, checking tyre pressure oil and water levels, indicators to confirm roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Drives the assigned vehicle to destination as instructed by the supervisor in order to transport staff, goods, materials, parcels, mail while observing traffic rules and regulations.
- Ensures regular servicing of the assigned vehicle by reporting to supervisor the due service date/mileage.
- Ensures trip authorization by maintaining a vehicle log book and securing authorizations.
- Reports to the police and supervisor any accident involving assigned NPA vehicle, following the NPA’s reporting procedure.
- Reports all faults’ detected on the assigned vehicle to the supervisor for corrective action.
- Parks the assigned vehicle in a safe and authorized place in order to avoid tampering or theft.
- Cleans the assigned vehicle by washing, dusting, vacuuming and polishing as necessary to ensure cleanliness and
- Adheres to the NPA rules relating to use of NPA vehicles, authorized trips and passengers in order to safeguard NPA’s interest.
Qualifications and Work Experience
a) Full Form V or Grade 12 School Certificate
b) SADC Driver’s License, Class C or above.
c) Able to Drive Manual Vehicles.
