Economist – Private Capital Flows (2 POSTS)
GRADE: BoZM5
Job Purpose
Collect, compile and analyze private capital flows data and provide accurate external sector statistics to support monetary policy formulation.
Main Accountabilities
- Plan the Foreign Private Investment and Investor Perceptions survey process for collection of annual and quarterly data for macroeconomic and external sector analysis.
- Compile the International Investment Position, in order to strengthen the comprehensiveness, accuracy and timelines of external sector statistics.
- Prepare data for the analytical policy reports, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and Coordinated Direct Investment Survey (CDIS) in order to contribute to the Bank’s effective formulation and conduct of monetary policy.
- Provide support for training and dissemination workshops of the Foreign Private Investment and Investor Perceptions survey findings with stakeholders.
- Provide information and respond to requests on Private Capital Flows data.
Qualifications and Experience
- MSc/MA in Economics; Economics and Finance or equivalent
- Three (3) years relevant experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Levels (Credit or better)
Key Knowledge and Attributes
- Knowledge in external sector statistics
- Data analytics and statistical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Research capabilities and
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
