Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Fitter to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor – Dewater/Crusher, you will be responsible for assisting in establishment of preventative and responsive maintenance and development within the mining area and across the site, to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Personally demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely.
• Provide resources and create a working environment that encourages personnel to actively contribute to safety, health and environmental affairs by managing risk in compliance with company objectives, policies, procedures, safe work practices, and relevant regulations.
• Actively participate in identification and implementation of projects that demonstrate working in an environment of continuous improvement.
• Ensure personal and team compliance with statutory acts and regulations and consent conditions.
• Participate in development of personal training strategies and undertake appropriate training modules.
• Carry out administrative functions commensurate with the role.
• Achievement of maintenance targets in the most cost-effective manner within budgets
• Transfer of technical knowledge to the position’s subordinate workforce.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair or Equivalent from a recognized Institution
• Minimum Two (2) Years’ experience in maintenance of fixed plant machinery mining industry
• Ability to show initiative and have good interpersonal skills.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must have excellent communication skills in the English language.
• Must be familiar with safe working practices.
