The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a Statutory Body established by the Government of the Republic of Zambia under Section 3 of the Civil Aviation Authority Act No. 7 of 2012 to provide for the regulation and promotion of Civil Aviation in Zambia, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates who are ambitious, innovative, energetic and performance driven to fill the position of Information and Communications Technology Officer.
JOB PURPOSE
To implement the planning, development, implementation of information & communication technology systems and infrastructure in order to enhance operational efficiency, data security, service delivery and support the Authority’s strategic objectives.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The job holder will be required to undertake the following duties and key responsibilities
- ICT Infrastructure and Systems Management – (Undertakes effectively, the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of ICT hardware, software, and network infrastructure in order to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations)
- ICT Security and Data Protection – ( Undertakes effectively, the development and the enforcement of ICT security policies, controls, and risk management practices in order to safeguard information assets and maintain data integrity, confidentiality and availability.)
- User Support and Service Delivery – (Undertakes timely, the provision of technical support and ICT helpdesk services in order to ensure timely resolution of user issues and maintain high levels of user satisfaction.)
- Systems Development and Innovation – (Undertakes periodically, the identification, design, and implementation of new ICT solutions and innovations in order to improve business processes, enhance service delivery and drive digital transformation.)
- Vendor and Contract Management – (Undertakes effectively, in the procurement, monitoring, and evaluation of ICT service providers and technology vendors in order to achieve value for money, quality standards, and effective contract performance.)
- Monitoring and Evaluation – (Undertakes effectively in the tracking of ICT performance indicators, project milestones, and service levels in order to support evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement)
- Reports – (Undertakes timely, submission of mandatory operational reports to monitor activity implementation and support informed decision-making.)
- Performance Management – (Undertakes periodically, the preparation of individual work plans in order to ensure synergistic integration, as well as monitor, evaluate and enhance individual performance.)
Minimum Primary/Secondary Education:
- Full-Form V /Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent
- Relevant ICT Professional Certification(s) will be added advantage
- Member of Information Communication Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ).
- 3 years work experience in the relevant field
