    The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a Statutory Body established by the Government of the Republic of Zambia under Section 3 of the Civil Aviation Authority Act No. 7 of 2012 to provide for the regulation and promotion of Civil Aviation in Zambia, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates who are ambitious, innovative, energetic and performance driven to fill the position of Inspector-Aerodromes.

    PURPOSE OF ROLE

    To conduct inspections, monitoring, and enforcement of aerodrome design and operational standards in order to ensure compliance with ICAO SARPs, national regulations, and promote safe, secure, and efficient aerodrome operations.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Aerodrome Inspections – (Undertakes regularly, physical inspections of aerodrome infrastructure and operations in order to verify compliance with approved design and safety standards.)
    2. **Compliance Monitoring **- (Undertakes timely, the monitoring and implementation of corrective actions and adherence to ICAO SARPs and national regulatory requirements in order to ensure continued safety assurance.)
    3. Aerodrome Certification Support – (Undertakes effectively, the conduct of initial and periodic certification assessments in order to validate aerodrome readiness and regulatory conformity.)
    4. Reporting and Documentation – (Undertakes accurately, the preparation of inspection reports, non-conformity notices and follow-up actions in order to support regulatory enforcement and decision-making.)
    5. Safety Audits and Surveillance – (Undertakes periodically, safety audits and routine surveillance in order to detect deficiencies and recommend timely improvements)
    6. Regulations and Standards Implementation – (Undertakes effectively, the application of national regulations, ICAO Annex 14 provisions, and technical guidance in order to ensure uniformity and international alignment.)
    7. Stakeholder Communication – (Undertakes regularly, engagements with aerodrome operators and service providers in order to facilitate compliance and promote proactive safety practices.)
    8. Training Participation – (Undertakes timely, technical training and capacity-building activities in order to enhance professional competence and operational effectiveness.)
    9. Incident Follow-Up Support – (Undertakes timely, the provision of support in investigating aerodrome-related incidents in order to identify root causes and recommend appropriate remedial measures.)
    10. Data and Records Management – (Undertakes accurately, the maintenance of inspection records and compliance databases in order to support regulatory traceability and trend analysis.)
    11. Stakeholder Engagement – (Undertakes effectively, stakeholder engagement programmes in order to acquire support and buy-in as well as facilitate local and international agreements, frameworks or memoranda of understanding.)
    12. Report – (Undertakes timely, submission of mandatory operational reports to monitor activity implementation and support informed decision-making.)
    13. Performance Management – (Undertake timely, the development and implementation of individual work plans in order to ensure synergistic integration, as well as monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.)

    Minimum Primary/Secondary Education:

    • Full-Form V /Grade 12 School Certificate.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
    • Member of a relevant professional body (where applicable.
    • Three (3) years of relevant experience.

    Other Skills/Attributes/Competences

    2. Submit certified copies of all relevant academic and professional qualifications, including Grade 12, already validated by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
    3. Submit a copy of their Zambian Citizenship National Registration Card (NRC)
