Main Purpose:

 

  • The main purpose of this role entails exceeding customer expectations by meeting business goals and working to achieve long term growth of vegetable seeds products in Southern Africa countries and by being a key member of the Africa Commercial Unit.
  • The role involves leading business initiatives, recruiting and managing distributor relationships and key partnerships and accounts as well as collaborate with other functions to maximize the value of our business and ensure realization of our commercial strategy in line with relevant KPI’s.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

  • Achieve the monthly, quarterly and Annual sales revenue and gross margin budget for assigned countries
  • Planning and managing the  Execution of the sales operational plan; setting targets for distributors in line with the operational plan .
  • In collaboration with the unit and squad, Co-creating and implementing the Go-to-market sales strategy.
  • Setting and executing the distribution targets for distributors and accountable for the overall health of the channel
  • Co-create business growth strategy; Selection of new distributors and development of the dealer network
  • Managing accounts receivables in line with the Days Outstanding Targets
  • Planning and Implementing country demand creation strategy managed by the distributor and partners
  • Forecasting: both short term (CY) for commercial portfolio; Forecasting Current CY +1 2 3 & entering forecast  demand in Salesforce.com. Participation in S&OP meetings and aligning demand/supply to country sales operational plan and providing market and sales insights.
  • A core team member to manage the current portfolio and introduction of new portfolio into the country; pricing, positioning and promotion.
  • Manage stakeholder and partner relationships for Export Countries: NPPOs, NGOs, etc to champion the VBB business in the industry. Onboarding of new relevant partners
  • Collecting and providing market intelligence to drive competitive strategy for the country
  • Co-creating customer solutions with the farmers and stakeholders

Qualifications & Competencies:

 

  • Degree in Business or Agriculture or related qualifications
  • MBA added advantage
  • Track record in creating and managing B2B partnerships
  • Track record in sales, marketing or business development
  • Operational experience in customer facing positions
  • Strong customer focus and strategic mindset
  • Agricultural knowledge and understanding of local market environment
  • Drive results
  • Influence without Authority
  • +5 years experience
  • Language- English. Portuegese added advantage
