1.0 BRIEF SUMMARY

The Zambia International Trade Fair Trust (ZITFT) is inviting applications from talented, energetic, enthusiastic, suitably qualified, and experienced candidates for the position of Maintenance and Property Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY

To coordinate and oversee the repair and maintenance of exhibitors’ stands, offices, plumbing, and building works at the ZITF, ensuring high-quality workmanship

MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with safe working procedures for all maintenance tasks to promote a safe working environment.

  • Assess the scope, nature, and materials needed for tasks before assigning work to the appropriate tradesmen.

  • Determine work requirements based on written job requests, sketches, or drawings to ensure quality repairs and maintenance.

  • Implement a preventative maintenance program and conduct routine inspections of premises, fixtures, fittings, utility meters, and grounds.

  • Manage the requisition of materials and tools within budget allocations, ensuring approval by superiors.

  • Prepare the Trade Fairgrounds for the event in a timely manner, inspecting stands and ensuring major tasks are completed to avoid last-minute issues.

  • Conduct periodic checks on the status of stands at the Trade Fairgrounds, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance, and address deficiencies promptly.

  • Train, motivate, and develop subordinates in alignment with ZITFT’s manpower policy, helping employees acquire the skills needed to meet responsibilities.

  • Any additional tasks that may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATION.

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate.
  • Diploma or Degree in Real Estate or a related discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience post-qualification.
  • Membership with a professional body, such as the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business solution software (preferably Pastel).
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
