Yalelo is seeking an Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for all mechanical repairs on site including but not limited to dismantling and assembly, maintaining and repairing all automotive machinery and vehicles. He/she is also engaged in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and servicing of a wide variety of automotive, including gasoline, electric, hybrid and natural gas powered, and/or heavy-duty diesel equipment, refrigerated trucks, gensets and forklifts.

The role is based in Kitwe.

The Main Responsibilities Of The Position Include

  • Conducts scheduled maintenance on automotive machinery, systems, and all other machinery
  • Assembles mechanical components according to specifications.
  • Examines (automotive) machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine anomalies
  • Designs a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades for all units in operation
  • Maintains work logs, repairs, and maintenance records for all units
  • Offers consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to all mechanical equipment
  • Performs vehicle Assessments using checklist and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspections.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate must be available to work weekdays and weekends including rotational shifts.

Must have skills

  • Automotive Mechanics Craft certificate or better.
  • Must be fully registered with EIZ with an active subscription
  • Valid Zambian (RTSA) issued Driver’s License held for 2 or more years.
  • 3 Years of Automotive experience in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in Automotive Equipment, Maintenance and Repair.

Good to have skills

  • Experience working in an FMCG Industry is an added advantage
