    The Mission of Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LWSC) is to provide climate resilient quality water supply and sanitation services.  In order to achieve this, the Company must ensure that a pipeline of staff with the right knowledge, skills and abilities are available as required. LWSC now seeks to recruit a dynamic and energetic person who is performance driven, and invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced  Zambia to fill the following vacant positions.

    Position:  Manager Corporate Planning (G3) X 1 (3 years fixed term contract)

    Reporting to: Managing Director

    Job Purpose

    To conduct organizational reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses that evaluate operational effectiveness. The manager also develops and implements business development strategies, while managing key stakeholders in striving for growth in alignment with the LWSC’s overall goals. The role will require to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to identify potential areas for expansion and improvement.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement business strategies that include short and long-term plans in alignment with LWSC overall strategic objectives.
    • Conduct market research and analysis by identifying potential markets, analyzing competitive landscapes, and assessing customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
    • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, acquisitions, and new service offerings that can create value addition or business growth.
    • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency of the business development initiatives by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and various strategies.
    • Create, build and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
    • Provide support to the Managing Director’s office in the formation, development and application of policy and strategic decisions relating to the Corporate Services and business development.
    • Coordinate and manage all aspects of project financial and economic analysis, advise the economic viability of water resources management projects identified, determine appropriate tariff categories to ensure sustainable operations of projects, period financial and economic reporting.
    • Develop and spearhead the implementation of approved departmental Annual Work Plans and Budgets based on the company’s Corporate Plan.
    • Coordinate the development, revision and implementation of the LWSC Strategic Plan and ensure that monitoring and evaluation reports are prepared and submitted to LWSC Management.
    • Provide an advisory and consultative service to line managers on all aspects of Business Development, corporate affairs and Information Technology in order to foster best practice and adherence to corporate governance.
    • Foster and support a culture of continuous improvement and business excellence that recognizes achievement and innovation.
    • Strong people management skills and foster a positive work environment, improve communication and collaboration, and reduce turnover.
    • Manage and encourage staff, optimizes their outputs and effectively manage relationships in order to achieve organizational goals.
    • Performs any other duties as delegated by superiors.

     Qualifications and Experience

    • School Certificate with credit and above in Mathematics and English
    • Bachelor of Business Administration/ Economics/Engineering or equivalent.
    • Postgraduate degree or professional qualification in business studies (Business Administration, Finance, Project Management) is an added advantage.
    • Five (5) years of experience in Business Development and Corporate Services with at least three (3) years at senior management level in a similar role in a reputable organization.
    • Member of the relevant professional body
    • Excellent working knowledge of a wide range of Corporate Governance.

    • Strong understanding of the Water Sector.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of relationships with private and government entities.
    • Excellent analytical and strategic skills.
    • Excellent Business acumen skills.
