Trans-Africa Christian University (TACU) invites suitably qualified and visionary leaders to apply for the following senior management positions. Deputy Vice Chancellor – Research and Innovation
1. VICE CHANCELLOR (VC)
The University is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly accomplished leader to provide overall strategic direction and executive management of TACU.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
a) Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
b) Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field from a reputable university.
c) Master’s degree in any relevant field from a reputable university.
d) Earned PhD in a relevant field or its equivalent.
e) Must be at the rank of Senior Lecturer or above.
f) Minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualifying experience in university education or an equivalent institution, with a distinguished record of senior management and leadership.
g) Proven academic leadership and strong achievements in teaching and research.
h) Demonstrated strategic thinking ability and excellent leadership skills.
i) Experience in financial management, budgeting, investment, and institutional planning (short, medium, and long term).
j) Demonstrated experience in resource mobilization, managing research projects, and consultancies.
k) Must have valid membership to a relevant professional body.
Additional Preference
Candidates with at least ten (10) years’ experience serving as Vice Chancellor in a premier university will be given priority.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate the highest levels of competence, integrity, values, ownership, and commitment to institutional advancement in line with TACU guidelines.
2. DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS (DVC-AA)
This position provides leadership and oversight over all academic functions of the University, ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership in academic planning and overall academic direction of the University.
Oversee curriculum development, accreditation processes, quality assurance, and academic policy formulation.
Supervise Deans, Directors, and academic departments to ensure delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
Ensure continuous improvement of academic programmes and teaching methodologies.
Promote student academic success, retention, assessment, and progression.
Support staff professional development and academic capacity building.
Facilitate collaborations with partner institutions for academic growth and exchange.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant fields from recognized universities.
Earned PhD in a relevant field.
Must be at Senior Lecturer level or above.
Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience in higher education with strong academic leadership.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, academic quality assurance, and accreditation.
Strong leadership, communication, and administrative abilities.
Membership in a recognized professional body.
3. DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR – RESEARCH AND INNOVATION (DVC-RI)
This role provides strategic leadership in advancing TACU’s research agenda, innovation, publications, and community engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the University’s research strategy, innovation ecosystem, and knowledge generation.
Promote high-quality, impactful, and ethically sound research across all faculties.
Strengthen research funding, grant management, and partnerships with local and international bodies.
Coordinate research centers, institutes, and innovation units.
Facilitate publication outputs, conferences, and scholarly engagement.
Lead resource mobilization for research, consultancy activities, and collaborative projects.
Promote commercialization of research outputs where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in relevant fields.
Must be at Senior Lecturer level or above.
Minimum of ten (10) years experience in university-level research, innovation, or academic administration.
Strong record of publications, funded research, and scholarly achievements.
Demonstrated ability in resource mobilization, grants administration, and project coordination.
Valid membership in a relevant professional body.
