The Council of Mulungushi University is inviting suitably qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for the following positions in the University: –
1.0 SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES – LIVINGSTONE CAMPUS
1.1 Lecturer of Pathology – 1 position (re – advertised)
Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics
ii. An earned Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with at least a Merit or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master of Science degree in Medical Pathology from a reputable and accredited University
iv. A PhD in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage
v. Proof of research and publications
vi. Functional computer literacy skills
vii. Teaching experience at University level will also be an added advantage
viii. Membership to a professional body such as the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) with a valid practicing license
1.2 Lecturer of Internal Medicine – 1 position (re – advertised)
Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor’s degree of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master’s degree of Medicine in Internal Medicine degree from a reputable and accredited University or its equivalence
iv. A PhD in Internal Medicine will equally be an added advantage
v. Functional computer literacy skills
vi. Teaching experience at University level will be an added advantage
vii. Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage
viii. Membership to a professional body such as the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) with a valid practicing license
1.3 Lecturer of Human Physiology – 1 position (re – advertised)
Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree or related health field such as Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Nursing Sciences with at least a Merit or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master of Science degree in Human Physiology from a reputable and accredited University
iv. A PhD in Physiology will be an added advantage
v. Functional computer literacy skills
vi. Teaching experience at University level will be an added advantage
vii. Proof of research and publications will equally be an added advantage
viii. Membership to a professional body such as the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) with a valid practicing license
1.4 Lecturer of Pharmacology – 1 position
Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy with at least a Merit or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Masters of Pharmacology from a reputable and accredited University
iv. Possession of PhD in the relevant discipline will be an advantage
v. Functional computer literacy skills
vi. Teaching experience at University level will be an added advantage
vii. Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage

2.0 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
2.1 Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering – 1 position
Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least a Merit or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable and accredited University
iv. A PhD in Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage
v. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and to publish
vi. Functional computer literate skills
vii. Teaching experience at the university level will be an added advantage
viii. Membership to the Engineers Institute of Zambia (EIZ) with a valid practising licence
2.2 Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering – 1 position
Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering with at least a Merit or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from a reputable and accredited University
iv. A PhD in Agricultural Engineering is an added advantage
v. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and to publish

Job purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities
Job requirements:

ii. An earned Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics Engineering with at least a Merit or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master’s degree in Geomatics Engineering from a reputable and accredited University

2.0 Research Ethics Officer – 1 position (re – advertised)
Job purpose: The Research Ethics Officer (REO) is tasked with upholding the highest ethical standards in research across diverse academic and applied disciplines. This role ensures compliance with institutional, national, and international regulations while addressing field- specific ethical challenges. The REO safeguards human and animal welfare, environmental sustainability, data integrity, and societal trust, fostering a culture of responsibility in research spanning engineering, healthcare, social sciences, business, agriculture, and natural/applied sciences.
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor’s degree in Law, Philosophies & Ethics, Ethics & Human Research Protection, Policy Analysis, Research Administration, Business Administration /or Entrepreneurship from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master’s degree in Law, Ethics & Human Research Protection or Policy Analysis from a reputable and accredited University
iv. Possession of a PhD or specialized training in research ethics is an added advantage
v. In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as CIOMS, ESRC
vi. Capable of navigating complex ethical dilemmas across fields
vii. Equipped to manage emerging concerns like AI bias or environmental justice
viii. Functional computer literacy skills
ix. At least two years working experience in research governance, compliance, or research ethics administration and with experience working with multidisciplinary review boards or ethical oversight bodies
4.0 Systems Administrator- 1 position (re – advertised)
Job purpose: To be responsible for the installation, implementation and maintenance of software and hardware solutions to meet the requirements of Mulungushi University
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
iii. A minimum of four years work experience
iv. A professional certifications, preferably LPIC-1 or higher, MCSA
5.0 Marketing Officer – 1 position (re-advertised)
Job purpose: The Marketing Officer will be required to develop and execute marketing strategies in order to enhance the University’s visibility and by so doing, attract prospective students and promote academic programmes and services. The job holder will also be expected to manage digital and traditional marketing campaigns, coordinate events and maintain stakeholder relationships with view to strengthen the University’s brand and reputation.
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language
ii. An earned Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with at least a Credit from a reputable and accredited University
iii. An earned Master’s degree in Marketing, Master of Business Administration, or Master of Business and Entrepreneurship will be an added advantage
iv. Functional computer literacy skills
v. Demonstrated experience in public relations
vi. Proven experience in marketing
vii. Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and branding strategies
viii. Excellent communication, creativity, and organisational skills

6.0 Management Secretary I – 1 position (re – advertised)
Job purpose: To provide secretarial and other related services to a Principal Officer in order to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the office.
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language
ii. A Diploma in Secretarial and Office Management
iii. A speed of 100/120 wpm in Shorthand
iv. A speed of 55/65 wpm in Typewriting
v. High computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
vi. At least five years practical work experience in a reputable organization at the level of Personal Assistant
vii. A fully paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Secretaries
7.0 Security Officer – Operations – 1 position
Job purpose: Safeguarding all University assets, property and human life, supervising shift work and conducting routine patrols within campus and off-campus posts
Job requirements:
i. A Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language
ii. A diploma in Law
iii. Police or Military training with attainment of having served at level of Inspector or second Lieutenant
iv. Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role
v. Functional computer literacy
vi. Proficiency in operating CCTV Surveillance system will be an added advantage
