JOB ADVERTISEMENT NO. 01 OF 2025
The Civil Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified serving officers to fill a vacant position under the Public Private Partnership Office (PPPO) Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
JOB TITLE: SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER (1 VACANCY)
SALARY SCALE: J1
DEPARTMENT: LEGAL AND CONTRACTS MANAGEMENT
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the provisions of Legal Services in order to ensure the Institution operates within the confines of the Law.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Assistant Director Legal and Contracts and shall be responsible for:
a) Policy Interpretation – Undertake timely, Interpretation of Government policies on Public Private Partnership in order to translate them into Law;
b) Legal Advice – undertake timely, provisions of legal advice in order to protect and safeguard the interest of the Government in Public – Private Partnership projects;
c) Legal Opinion – undertake timely, provisions of legal opinions on Public Private Partnership projects Contract Clauses in order to facilitate decision making;
d) Legal Documentation – undertake timely, preparation of legal documentation in order to facilitate execution Public Partnership agreements;
e) Contract Management – undertake timely, preparations of contracts in order to facilitate commencement of Public – Private partnership projects;
f) Database – undertake effectively, the maintenance of a database in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information;
g) Performance Management – undertake effectively, the implantation of performance management systems in order to monitor and evaluate performance;
REQUIREMENTS
The applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
- LLB Degree
- Advocate of the High Court
- Valid Practicing Licence
- Five (05) years working experience of which two (02) years should be post bar admission experience.
- Negotiation, Analytical and Interpersonal skills
- High Confidentiality and Integrity
