About the role

 

We are excited to share amazing career building opportunity (SHES Coordinator) that has become available in our Africa South Sub Region based in Zambia. As a SHES Coordinator and an Orica Future Shaper, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Kansanshi site adheres to the highest standards of safety, health, environmental, and security protocols. This role is essential for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, ensuring the well-being of employees, and promoting sustainable practices.

What you will be doing

 

Participate and support SHES assurance activities in field to recognize areas of improvement and progress track action plans;
Support and enable Orica leaders to execute their SHES responsibilities and accountabilities;
Partner with SHES Advisors & Specialist in conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with SHES standards;
Participate and support in event investigations to ensure appropriate actions and progress tracking of action;
Support the development and review of a SHES risk profile;
Participate in implementation of initiatives to identify, mitigate and prevent SHES risks;
Provide advice in response to SHES queries on policy and process relevant to the Manufacturing Centre or Sub-Regional Area within agreed timeframes;
Participate in continuous improvement processes and problem-solving activities within the Manufacturing Centre or Sub-Regional Area;
Conduct ongoing SHES awareness, communication and training to ensure clear understanding SHES procedures and processes;
Ensure accuracy of information and delivery in agreed timeframes;
Participate in Manufacturing Centre or Sub-Regional Area and company projects as required;
Contribute to the development and implementation of SHES management systems;
Participate in additional support and career-building activities for the Manufacturing Centre, Sub-Regional Area, and organization to maintain and enhance the service delivery of the SHES portfolio;

 

What you will bring

 

Engineering or science degree in fields related to occupational health & safety;

Prefeered work experience: 2-3 years experience post qualification;

Desired work experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment roles;

Without formal qualifications – up to 10 years of administrative experience, or allocation of work to operators;

Technical &/or functional business system applications required for tasks (e.g. SAP, SF, analytics/visualisation tools, engineering software, etc.);

Good understanding of Mining Safety Management System Aspect by always prioritizing Safety Value;
