Special Education Teacher

Teacher of Special Educational Needs (SEN) – Acacia School, Livingstone

Acacia School is seeking a qualified and experienced Teacher of Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our inclusive and diverse learning community. This is a full-time position, available from May 2025 or sooner.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Support students with diverse learning needs, adapting teaching methods to ensure all learners can access the curriculum.
• Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and specialists to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
• Deliver targeted interventions and in-class support to help students achieve their full potential.
• Promote inclusive classroom practices and provide professional guidance to colleagues on differentiation and SEN strategies.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Recognised teaching qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Inclusive Education.
• Proven experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an international or dual curriculum setting.
• Experience with Cambridge and/or Zambian National Curriculum is highly desirable.
• A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to the holistic development of all learners.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
