Job Purpose
The Warehouse Assistant Officer will be accountable for the overall Stores operations, which receives and stores, moves and ships supplies, stock and materials to and/or from the warehouse. Responsible for maintaining and overseeing inventory and various products supplies as per assigned warehouse by receiving, storing and dispatching i.e. ensuring to analyse dispatch logs, review timeless of scheduled deliveries, track inventory levels, replenish stock, determine and track more important warehouse expectations.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
- Assist to develop and implement both short- and long-term warehouse planning.
- Responsible for securing the assigned warehouse as well as supervising outsourced / casual staff engaged in the warehousing and
dispatch, including transport and logistics teams. - Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovatively or adjust existing work procedures and practices
- Supervise the loading and offloading of items in the warehouse
- Take Charge the Fleet and daily supervise drivers on their planned movements and deliveries
- Ensure all warehouse employees receive regular performance reviews, personal development and succession plans
- Resolve conflict and create a positive and productive team environment.
- Shipping and receiving of products to and from the warehouse on behalf of customers.
- Ensuring accurate recording management is performed in the department
- Monitoring stock levels on a regular basis
- Sourcing of high-quality and cost-effective goods and services
- Accountable for the planning and direction of all warehouse operations, including developing and monitoring key performance indicators, security, change management, technology and all administration activities, such as production reporting.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
- Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
- Communicate job expectations and coach employees
- Determine staffing levels and assign workload

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Purchasing & Supply or Stores Management
- Must have a minimum of 3+ years of Stores/Warehouse Management working experience with a Manufacturing, Mining, ICT Company in the same or similar capacity.
- Must have vast experience in preparing Stock, Inventory & Fleet Management Reports
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a member of CIPS or ZIPS
